Insulation across Smith and Gregg counties

Every town page walks through the houses and buildings common there, the work owners ask for most, and the questions we hear locally.

Same Piney Woods weather, different houses

Tyler and Longview hold a lot of older housing, from brick and frame homes near downtown to houses raised on pier and beam crawl spaces. Kilgore grew up around the oil field, so its homes and shops tend to have a few decades on them. Whitehouse and Bullard keep adding newer subdivisions, and Lindale mixes new homes with shops and barns on acreage along I-20 and US 69.

What ties them together is the air. East Texas summers are hot and sticky, the rain is steady, and pine trees shade a lot of roofs. That humidity is why we look at moisture as closely as R-value, in the attic and under the floor.
